Bakelite powder is primarily used as a raw material for various industrial applications, particularly in the production of molded products and electrical components. It exhibits excellent electrical insulating properties, making it suitable for electrical and electronic applications. The powder form allows for easy mixing and molding into desired shapes using processes such as compression molding, injection molding, or 3D printing.
One of the notable properties of bakelite powder is its ability to retain its shape even under high temperatures, making it ideal for applications that require heat resistance. It is also known for its chemical resistance, flame retardancy, and good mechanical strength. These characteristics make it suitable for a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, electrical and electronic, and industrial manufacturing.
Bakelite powder has been widely used in the past for its desirable properties, but its popularity has diminished over time due to the emergence of newer and more advanced materials. However, it still finds its applications in various niche fields and is appreciated for its historical significance in the development of synthetic polymers.
Application: phenolic moulding compound/bakelite powder
1.Production of insulation structures of low-votage electric.
2.Socket, case of lampholder
3.Electrical and appliance application.
4.Handles of pan, knobs (compression)
Different grades of bakelite powder are available
1. Common Compression moulding grade:
Model R131: the cheapest grade, can be suitable for making kitchenware parts, spare parts of daily household by plastic pressing
in mould, and other small components(ashtray, bread machin, etc).
Model D131: improved the electrical property and impact strength, are mostly used for making household parts, low-voltage
electrical appliances and other insulation structure components.
Model D141: with better electrical performance and impact / bending strength than D131, can be used for handles, low-voltage
electrical appliances and other insulation structure components.
2. Common Injection moulding grade:
Model 141J: used for injection machine, with similar technical property as D141, can be suitable for making injection handle,
knob, socket, plug, and other components.
Model 151J: used for injection machine, with better technical property than 141J, can be suitable for making higher grade
injection handle, knob, electrical appliances, and mechanical components.
Model 161J: used for injection machine, with best electrical property and mechanical property, can be suitable for making all
kinds of household appliances, low-voltage electrical appliances, and mechanical components. Which can be used in hot & humid
areas.
3. Special grade:
Model 431J / 161J(D): these two grade are used for injection machine, filled high temperature endured mineral materials and fire
retardant, with best flammability and hot tin(Sn) endurance performance. It is suitable for making coil structure framework,
electrical insulated components.
Model PF2-967: for automatic compressing method, with good heat-resistance and electroplating performance. It is mostly used for
making cosmetic bottle cap, plastic bottle cap.
Model PF2D1: for both compression and injection machine, with glass fiber reinforced, it has the best abrasion-resistance, good
mechanical property, heat-resistance, electrical property. It is suitable for making electrical insulated structure components
with high mechanical strength requirement.
