Polyvinyl Butyral Resin
Polyvinyl butyral resin (referred to as PVB) is a thermoplastic resin product synthesized by the condensation reaction of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and butyraldehyde. Appearance is white powder, soluble in methanol, ethanol, ketones, halogenated alkanes, aromatic hydrocarbon solvents. And it has good compatibility with nitrocellulose, phenolic resin, epoxy resin and some plasticizers. PVB has good film-forming properties, and the formed coating film has superior properties such as high transparency, cold resistance, impact resistance, and ultraviolet radiation resistance. And PVB has a special chemical structure, which can have excellent adhesion with metals, glass, wood, ceramics, fiber products, etc., and has good dispersibility for pigments and dyes. It is widely used in the production of safety glass interlayer films, coatings and paints, copper clad laminates, decals for porcelain, fabric printing,
tipping paper, inks, and special adhesives.

Applications: High-rise building curtain walls, skylights, roofs, bank windows, etc.
Functions: PVB laminated glass offers excellent impact resistance, sound insulation, UV protection, and safety. Even if the glass breaks, the fragments adhere firmly to the PVB film, preventing them from flying and injuring people, and maintaining the integrity of the glass, providing temporary protection.
Applications: Windshields, side windows, and rear windows.
Functions: Also provides safety and impact resistance. Windshields have extremely high requirements; PVB laminated glass ensures that in the event of a collision, the driver will not be injured by flying glass fragments, and their field of vision remains largely intact. It also provides sound insulation, heat insulation, and UV protection.
Bulletproof Glass: By using multiple layers of glass and a thick layer of PVB film, different levels of bulletproof glass are made for use in banks, jewelry stores, armored vehicles, and important facilities.
Security glass: It delays the time it takes for the glass to break, serving as an alarm and a theft prevention function.
